We have some important news to share regarding our beloved Emma Hood Swim Center. As part of our communities ongoing commitment to providing top-notch facilities for our athletes, we are thrilled to announce that Emma Hood Swim Center will undergo a comprehensive refurbishment starting on May 30th, 2024.
This refurbishment is a significant investment in our team and community, and while we understand it may cause some temporary inconvenience, we believe the end result will be well worth it. The anticipated completion date for the refurbishment is set for August of 2025. During this time, Emma Hood Swim Center will be closed to the public.
So, what can you expect from the new and improved Emma Hood Swim Center? Here's a sneak peek:
Main Pool: We're expanding! The new main pool will feature 12 lanes, each 25 yards long, providing ample space for training and competitions.
Practice Pool: In addition to the main pool, we're adding a practice pool with 4 lanes, also 25 yards long, to accommodate our growing team's needs.
Enhanced Facilities: Get ready for a revamped pool deck complete with improved lighting, storage facilities, and a brand-new scoreboard to track your progress.
Spectator Comfort: Say goodbye to uncomfortable seating! The new center will feature moveable bleachers, ensuring that all our fans have a great view of the action.
Diving Board: Dive into excitement with the addition of a one-meter diving board, perfect for honing your diving skills.
State-of-the-Art Equipment: We're upgrading all our pool equipment to ensure smooth operations and top performance.
Convenience: No more waiting in line for a shower! Deck-mounted showers will be available for your convenience.
Safety and Privacy: A new fence will enhance security and provide a sense of privacy for our team members and guests.
While we're thrilled about these enhancements, we also want to acknowledge that the refurbishment will impact our swim schedules. With Emma Hood Swim Center temporarily closed, we'll need to make adjustments, especially during the fall session. During this time, the high school teams will be utilizing Encinal, leaving us with Franklin Pool, Lincoln Pool, and Mills College as our primary training facilities.
We understand that change can be challenging, but we're confident that together, we'll navigate this transition smoothly. Please stay tuned for updates and announcements regarding alternative training schedules and locations.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to provide you with the best possible facilities and opportunities for success. We can't wait to see you dive into the new and improved Emma Hood Swim Center in 2025!
